Program Description
The Welding program provides the following training and experience:
- Safety practices for welding processes
- Gas, arc, shielded and non-shielded metal arc, brazing, and flame cutting
- Hand, semi-automatic and automatic welding processes
- Types and uses of electrodes and welding rods
- Properties of metals
- Blueprint reading
- Electrical principles
- Welding symbols and mechanical drawing
- Use of portable grinders and chemical baths for surface cleaning

Articulation Agreements
Students who meet all the requirements of the Tech Prep Program will receive credit and admission preference into these Post Secondary Programs:
- Penn College of Technology (an affiliate of Penn State)

Students in the Welding program are eligible for:
- Pennsylvania Skills Certificate
- AWS D1.1 Certification
