Forestry
Program Description
The Forestry program provides the following training and experience. Students learn how to:
- Assist foresters
- Produce, protect and manage timber and specialty forest crops
- Maintain, safely operate and repair related equipment and machinery
- Harvest and transplant trees as a crop
- Select, grade and market raw materials for converting into a variety of consumer goods
- Use the forest for multiple purposes as game preserves and recreation

Articulation Agreements
Students who meet all the requirements of the Tech Prep Program will receive credit and admission preference into these Post Secondary Programs:
- ACM Community College
- Penn Tech (an affiliate of Penn State University)
Certifications
Students in the Forestry program are eligible for:
- Pennsylvania Skills Certificate
- Forest Fire Fighter Certification
- PA Pesticide Applicator Certification
Clubs/Organizations
Students may become members of the FFA Student Chapter. This student organization provides professional and personal growth opportunities to all members. Students may compete in local, regional, state and national competitions.
