Electrical Occupations


Program Description

The Electrical Occupations program provides the following training and experience. Students learn how to:

  • Install, operate, maintain and repair electrically energized residential, commercial and industrial systems

  • Install, operate, maintain and repair DC and AC Motors

  • Install, operate, maintain and repair controls and electrical distribution panels

  • Read circuit diagrams and use electrical codes

  • Read blueprints, sketching and technical manuals

  • Read an interpret commercial and residential construction wiring codes and specifications on installation and maintenance of wiring

Careers in the Electrical Occupations Field

  • Electricians

  • Helpers-Electricians

Articulation Agreements

Students who meet all the requirements of the Tech Prep Program will receive credit and admission preference into these Post Secondary Programs:

  • Triangle Tech

  • Penn College of Technology (an affiliate of Penn State)


Certifications

Students in the Electrical Occupations program are eligible for:

  • Pennsylvania Skills Certificate

  • RBT/ACERS Copper Cabling & Fiber Optics
