Early Childhood Education
Program Description
The Early Childhood Education program provides the following training and experience: 
- Different stages of growth and development in small children
- Nutrition
- Program Planning and management
- Safety
- Behavior guidance and play activities
- Child abuse and neglect
- Laws, regulations and policies relating to child care service
- Parent-child personal relationships
- Practical experience with onsite preschool (180 hours per year)
Careers in the Early Childhood Education Field
- Education Administrators, Preschool and Child Care Center/Program
- Preschool Teachers, except Special Education
- Child Care Workers
Articulation Agreements
Students who meet all the requirements of the Tech Prep Program will receive credit and admission preference into these Post Secondary Programs:
- Mount Aloysius College
- Penn College of Technology (an affiliate of Penn State)
Certifications
Students in the Early Childhood Education program are eligible for:
- Pennsylvania Skills Certificate
- CDA Ready Certification
