Drafting and Design
Program Description
The Drafting and Design program provides the following training and experience. Students learn how to:
- Plan, prepare and interpret mechanical, architectural, chemical, structural, civil, pneumatic, marine, electrical/electronic, topographical and other drawings and sketches used in various engineering fields.
- Use computers and drafting software to create drawings
- Prepare reports and data sheets for writing specifications
- Develop plans and process charts indicating dimensions, tolerance, fasteners, joint requirements and other engineering data
- Develop models
- Draft multiple view assembly and sub-assembly drawings as required for manufacture, construction, and repair mechanisms

Students who meet all the requirements of the Tech Prep Program will receive credit and admission preference into these Post Secondary Programs:

Students in the Drafting and Design program are eligible for:
- Pennsylvania Skills Certificate
